Shanell Alleva, LCSW Owner/Clinician

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in NM & CO. I received my Masters in Social Work in 2013 from NM Highlands University. I have been in the Social Work field for 14 years. Half of my career was spent working as a therapist in the justice system, both adult and juvenile. I opened a telehealth therapy practice in 2020, and opened Embodied Essence Therapy at the end of 2025. I support individuals who are anxious and/or disconnected from themselves. I also work with individuals who have experienced trauma and in turn have nervous system dysregulation. Many grew up in households that required them to be hypervigilant, emotionally suppressed, or heavy responsibility for their age, so through our work together you will learn what safety and self trust feels like.

I am especially passionate about working with LGBTQ+ community and provide a non-pathologizing, affirming safe space where the proper healing can unfold without the need to justify the real you. I work well with adults who are ready to create a new template and go deeper than coping skills they may have learned in the past.
